“Can you predict which option would be the majority among people close to you?”
Many people answer confidently, “Of course I can.”
But when they actually play this game, they are surprisingly often wrong.
Our group has tested this game for about 20 years, with groups ranging from a few people to around 50. The result is that most people cannot correctly predict “the group majority.”
For some reason, some people are very good at predicting the majority.
No matter how many times we play, it may be the same person.
What exactly are they noticing?
When everyone is unsure,
which path will more people choose?
Maybe they can sense the group’s mood.
This fortune-telling game reveals
“the person who understands this group best.”
When in doubt, just rely on that person.
For each question, choose A or B based on what you would do.
For the same question, predict whether more people will choose A or B.
Each correct prediction earns a ★. After 10 questions, the player with the most stars is “the person who understands this group best.”
With an even number of participants, there may be no clear majority.
Only when the human A/B vote is tied, the AI chosen at the start casts the final vote.
